I was told to check out this four issue comic book because apparently it’s ‘messed up so I’d like it’. When I heard it was penned by Ben Templesmith, one of the writers/creators of 30 Days of Night, I was interested. But then I read about a mental institute run by werewolves, I was totally sold.

The comic book is only four issues but Variety reported that the film rights have been picked up to develop a movie about it! The story is about a psychiatrist who is forced to team up with a mentally disturbed patient to escape the werewolves who run the institute for the criminally insane… now that IS seriously messed up but deliciously so!

Can’t wait to see how this project develops. The official website is here.

Where the Wild Things Are was one of my favourite books growing up as a kid. When I heard they were making it into a movie, I wasn’t quite sure how to take that. On the one hand, it will be awesome to see something as magical as this story being brought to life on the big screen. But on the other hand, if it’s really bad and not how I remember it, it might ruin the wonderful memory I have of reading this book.

The trailer doesn’t give me much either but I thought I’d post it here since it’s kind of important to me.

Enjoy and thanks again to Trailer Addict for the quality trailers.

We posted a quick note here about the zombie version of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ by Jane Austen retold by Seth Graham-Smith but not in a million years did we think anyone would take the book seriously. Well, that is seriously enough to want to spend millions on a movie adaptation of the book.

Turns out that some people take Jane Austen and zombies very seriously and according to slash film, Hollywood studios are now in some sort of cut-throat bidding war for the rights to make the movie!

It’s WTF Wednesday again, isn’t it?

It’s WTF Wednesday and you know what that means? Something weird and whacky this way comes. When I heard about this zombie rewrite of the famous ‘Pride and Prejudice’ novel by Jane Austen, I didn’t believe it at first. I mean, Zombie X-Men is one thing… but a Zombie remake of ‘Pride and Prejudice?’ – that’s really kinda insane.

So I checked it out and for sure, the book has been rewritten by author Seth Graham-Smith and is entitled ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’.

Here’s a short summary taken from IO9

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies features the original text of Jane Austen’s beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Complete with 20 illustrations in the style of C. E. Brock (the original illustrator of Pride and Prejudice), this insanely funny expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen’s classic novel to new legions of fans.
