Paul Bettany as the Priest

If you’ve never heard of the graphic novel ‘Priest’ you’re really missing out. Originally a Manhwa (Korean manga) distributed by Tokyopop and created by Hung Min-Woo it has now been adapted into a movie starring Paul Bettany (pictured) and Cam Gigandet (the vampire James from ‘Twilight’). The movie will be distributed by Screen Gems.

If they keep to the original story as told in the manhwa, it should be a good movie. Paul Bettany’s character is Ivan Isaacs who is a warrior-priest that sells his soul to the devil Belial for the power to fight evil. Sounds juicy, huh? And if that isn’t interesting enough, the entire background of the story is told in the American Wild Western frontier…

Count me in and we’ll be watching for more updates on this for sure but in the meantime, you can read my review of the first volume of this manhwa here.
